| CANADA'S SOURCE FOR CRISPIN GLOVER HUMOUR, PARODY, AND SATIRE
ALBUQUERQUE, NM-- Beloved actor Crispin Glover, star of such films as Ferdydurke and High School U.S.A., has chosen a new career path, one that's far removed from the glamour and fast pace of Hollywood. Crispin has forsaken film in favour of a more down-to-earth profession--real estate. Or to be more precise, cave real estate.
"I've always wanted to sell caves, man," said Crispin, also known for his role of "Howdy" in the meteorological thriller, Twister. "It's always been there, in the back of my mind, waiting to get out." Glover, 37, who entertained millions in the 1984 comedy Teachers, recently opened an office in the Albuquerque suburb of Armijo, after receiving his license in cavern and cave real estate. The board certified course takes around six months to complete. Even when he was doing impersonations of Olivia Newton-John in the memorable The Orkly Kid, he was thinking of someday running his own cave-selling business. "It is truly a dream come true," added Crispin, who acted alongside of Uma Thurman in the comedy-romance-western Even Cowgirls Get The Blues. For the actor who played Rubin Farr in the wacky dead cat comedy Rubin And Ed, the unique business idea of selling actual caves as homes was appealing. "Thousands of years ago, man lived in caves. And now, I'm selling them," replied the man who recently played "Roy" in Renée Zellweger's Nurse Betty, and followed that up with a nefarious role in Charlies Angels, and a dark lead in the movie Willard. Says the writer of Victorian storybooks such as "Rat Catching" and "Oak-Mot," cave selling will be a new direction with exciting new opportunities. "I even got my hair cut, for jam's sake!" The Albuquerque cave-selling market is varied, but the eccentric creator of the spoken word album "The Big Problem [does not equal] The Solution. The Solution=LET IT BE" expects to do well. "I'll probably feel the market out at first. I'm not going to abuse my celebrity status to misrepresent my cave salesmanship." The director
of What Is It? is planning several "Open Caves" for early
July.
