The Feeling Could Be Mutual
Luc Beauthoaise, The Hopeless Romantic
Oh Laura, what is this power that you have over me?
My only thoughts are of you. I fear I cannot concentrate on my job anymore and I know I must leave. I am consumed with you, and I won't let anything interfere with my devotion. Everything else is secondary; my education, my career, my '84 Fiero.
It pains me to even think of a woman other than you. My heart cries out to you silently: "Laura, Laura."
I know we've only dated once, and that our time together was cut short when your friend called you up suddenly, and you had to go help her with her fashion emergency. But those 45 minutes we spent together were like an eternity, and I would gladly trade away every 45-minute date I've ever had to be able to re-live that precious time we shared.
If you are like me, I know you can't wait to thank our mutual friend for setting us up together. She is a certainly a true friend, and we must both find ways to pay her back.
I anxiously await your call, for you must have given me your number incorrectly in your haste to depart. I have tried to call several times since, hoping that maybe the telephone company was to blame. Although our communication link has been temporarily severed by the cruel fates of love, my unspoken words are reaching out everywhere for you to hear.
