I am shocked to know that you told your suitor your age, and not to have lied about it at all. Yes, it is true that at the young age of 29, you are able to keep them guessing by misleading them to your true age. It is a clever woman who is truly twenty-nine and makes the men think them much less. The rule of the thumb is of course to stop the counting before thirty, and to laugh and giggle at their very young guesses. For I always say to those who guess for me to be only twenty-one, that they are surely teasing, but hint at oh-so-close that they are. It is a game for sure that you must continue to play. You are far more the intriguing for being the debutante than the madam. Oh, if only Princess Margaret had not been in the light of lime, she could have been keeping with her pretense until the sad day of her death. It is like
as important to protect your age from the men, as it is to keep secret
the contents of your change purse. It would do you well to learn to deflect
these questions with obvious flirting and pouty indignations. Do not be
too quick to be letting your guard down to a man who may quickly find
that your youth and charms are like a weak potion losing its potency.
