Business and E-Commerce Solutions from Cecil Sechelles

I've been getting a lot of e-mail lately from people in foreign countries, asking me to invest in their exciting business opportunities. Well, those are all great, but I tell you, none of them stood out to me as much as the one from a former presidential aide in Nigeria.

Now it seems to me this fellow, goes by the name of Mubutu, or Kabulu, or Kthulu, went and got himself shot in some political uprising. Now that's a sad thing. But his assistants say he had all this money, something like a hundred million dollars (African dollars might not be the same as American dollars), all in cash. Now apparently, Mubutu was supposed to spend this money on illegal weapons, so that he could free his patriots and get rid of the rebels. To me, it sounded like he had a good plan, but it was badly executed (excuse the pun).

Now the upshoot of all this African upheaval, is that the Nigerian bureaucrats are out of a job--since the new regime has taken over--but they still have all the cash. In the e-mail I received (they must have read about me somehow), they are asking me to come to Nigeria as a foreign investor, to help them extract this Nigerian money from their beleagured nation.

Now, I've never played the diplomat before, and it smacks of intrigue. I'd be a little wary of flying into the middle of a revolutionary uprising, but they promise that I'd be protected, some kind of diplomatic immunity. That's fair.

I haven't told momma about this deal--the big one it seems. I want to keep it a surpise. If I have time, I may even travel over to the Congo, as it seems they are having a similar problem over there. I guess that's the price of reform.

Well, I guess this will be my last column...because after this, I'm going to be so rich I could buy my own country! Hmm, but then I'd probably have to spend money on arms deals, and that could cut into my golf game.
