| CANADA'S SOURCE FOR COMPUTER HUMOUR, PARODY, AND SATIRE
SAN RAFAEL, CALIFORNIA-- The information technologies department of Nortech Solutions, relieved that their budget was approved, have finally purchased the long-awaited new server. IT management had waited three months for the bean-counters to approve the purchase, while the department struggled with an older machine. The new server was installed over the weekend, much to the delight of the technical staff.
"The old server was unstable," said Bert Inelli, IT support representative. "It was always overheating, and most times it wouldn't accept our input. We would hear it grinding away, but we couldn't get anything out of it." The old server was outdated and completely unreliable. Nortech employees were always complaining about lost packets, and frequently their requests would only come out in dribbles. Other times they ended up dealing with overflow problems. The difficulties with the old server had been brewing for some time. "That clunky old thing was too slow. Retrieval would take forever, when anything came out of it at all," said Tom Larsen, support supervisor. "The new server has many more features, programming options, and a sleek black case. It's got a powerful processor, and stuff should just pour out of it. The server's output is ten times greater than its predecessor. I think it's pretty hot." It took Tom only minutes to get the new server set up and running fluidly. He had no problems installing the proper filters, or getting it Java-enabled. "It was simple. I connected the power supply to the outlet, hooked it up to the heat sink, let it warm up, and then set up the menu selection," said Tom perkily. "After a couple of minutes, the new server was functioning optimally." Tom and his co-workers are already impressed. "This
new server is fast," added Tom, brimming with excitement. "And
it's customizable. Not only can it serve coffee and hot chocolate, but
also a wide range of specialty coffee beverages and exotic teas."
