| CANADA'S SOURCE FOR HUMOUR, PARODY, AND SATIRE
DOWNTOWN-- It's nice to be able to walk into a take-out restaurant and buy a slice of hot pizza for ninety-nine cents. It's quick, it's convenient, and best of all, it's cheap! But what if the restaurant is out of the way, and you don't want to order a whole pizza from the "other guys"? Why hasn't anyone thought about turning this under-a-dollar venture into a successful delivery business, allowing customers to order their favourite food one slice at a time? Well...someone did!
One Slice, One Price Pizza Delivery has started up a unique business that will allow customers to order pizza by-the-slice, and have piping-hot pizza delivered to the door for less than a dollar. It sounds too good to be true, but the owners of this delivered-to-the-door pizza business have a secret for the short-term success of their spicy new start-up company: versatility. "We can bake an entire pizza, which when sliced, can serve up to eight separate customers," said Mario Cartes, a pioneer in the dynamic new pizza delivery industry. "That means that instead of selling just one pizza for one price, we're able to sell eight slices for ninety-nine cents a piece. That means more profit for us, and more pizza slices for the customer." Mario, who once worked as a delivery agent for one of those crusty pizza giants, came up with the idea after he realized how much leftover pizza there would be at the end of a night shift. His friends thought the idea was half-baked, but Mario took his knowledge of the pizza delivery business and cooked up a decent business proposal, which he took to the bank, along with some delicious samples of pizza. "Let's face it--pizza is filling," said Mario. "And not everyone has the room in their fridge for those huge cardboard boxes for leftovers. With pizza-by-the-slice delivery, you only order what you want. It's more affordable, and there's never any waste." But what about those pizza lovers who enjoy having leftover pizza the next day? "You like cold pizza for breakfast?" asked Mario jokingly. "Well, when you order pizza-by-the-slice delivery, you can always order two slices!" Mario cannot take all the credit for the success of his little pizza delivery venture. The take-out pizza-by-the-slice business has been thriving for years. Mario just kneaded the idea, added some zest, and created a tasty little niche industry that really delivers on its promise.
