LOS ANGELES, CA– Irreverent Canadian comic Tom Green was assaulted this morning during a taping of his successful MTV series, “The Tom Green Show.” In a segment entitled “Fun in the Park,” in which Green interviews people in a public Los Angeles park, the enigmatic host was punched in the face and knocked to the ground by machinist Robert Morrison. Morrison, 34, was seated on a park bench reading “The Times” when he was approached by Green.

The star of Freddie Got Fingeredand Road Trip grabbed the newspaper out of Morrison’s hands and began using the paper as wings, flapping his arms wildly, running around in circles, and screaming, “I’m a pigeon. I’m a big pigeon!” After ignoring Morrison’s repeated requests to return his newspaper and to leave him alone, Morrison struck Green in the face, knocking him to the ground.
