DALLAS, TX– The Golden Brett will play in the 2002 Olympics one way or another. After recently being cut by U.S. Olympic Hockey Team coach Brian Murray, Brett Hull immediately contacted the Swedish Consulate in New York and applied for his Swedish citizenship. The former seventy goal scorer for the St. Louis Blues, now a winger with the Dallas Stars of the National Hockey League, denied he had any bitter feelings toward the U.S. Olympic Hockey program. When asked about his decision, he simply replied “I’m going to play for Sweden.” And when further questioned about his qualifications for citizenship, he retorted “Hey, I’m the Golden Brett. It’s obvious I must be of Scandanavian descent. Now back off.”
