Teemu Selanne Makes A Splash On The Ice
Selanne, who started his professional hockey career by scoring 72 goals in his rookie season with the Winnipeg Jets, has lost a step or two, and has been relying on his "other" talents to compliment his hockey style. By utilizing his incredible diving skills, the Finnish hockey player has done nothing but improve the integrity of the sport, increase the respect of his peers, and create a couple of extra power play advantages for his Anaheim Ducks team. Teemu Selanne has shown that he has the multi-talented ability to perform his specialized diving techniques both in the pool AND inside hockey rinks. Several members of the Vancouver Canucks were quite complimentary of Selanne's diving skills, while their team played the Anaheim Ducks in the second round of this year's NHL playoffs. While technically not officially part of the "true sport" of hockey, Selanne has proven that he dive like an Olympian even while wearing skates. Selanne hopes that by falling flat on his face during critical hockey games, he can improve on the game of hockey, which many feel has lost some of its original values by having many of the traditional rules changed.
