Toronto Maple Leafs fan Jeremy Stohl says that his computer generated hockey team is unbeatable.

The whole concept sounds preposterous, but not according to Jeremy Stohl, a die-hard Maple Leafs fan who has led the Toronto hockey franchise to victory in the Stanley Cup finals for three straight years--well, three straight simulated years, playing Electronic Arts' NHL 2006.

"The Leafs rule!" declared Jeremy, who has been following the blue & white since he a kid. Regrettably, Jeremy was not around when the real Leafs won the real Cup back in 1967. In fact, Toronto has not even made it to the finals since then.

But thanks to a PC version of the realistic hockey video game, Jeremy has been able to live out the dream that has been shattered every year by the disappointing real-life Canadian hockey team.

"The playoff run was amazing," said Jeremy, referring to his simulated on-ice series. "The Leafs knocked off Buffalo [Sabres] in four straight, then won the division title by defeating rival Ottawa [Senators] in five. [Mats] Sundin led the playoffs in scoring, and Eddie [Belfour] posted six consecutive shutouts. Mind you, I had the game setting on 'beginner', so the Leafs were able to coast through most of the games. It would've been seven shutouts, except I dropped the game controller in the first period of Game 1 of the Stanley Cup against Colorado [Avalanche]."

Jeremy saved recordable demos of all of the playoff games, and is planning on making a commemorative DVD to share with his friends. He even paraded an inflatable Stanley Cup down his street after his electronic hockey team won their first championship.

"I'll convert the savegame files to .mpg or .avi and put in some commentary, and maybe some .jpg images of the Leafs carrying the cup around the rink," said Jeremy of the DVD. "Some of the pictures are a little rasterized, as I had to play the game at a lower resolution. Still, this does not detract from the fact that the Toronto Maple Leafs are Number One!! Wooh!!!"

Jeremy hopes that the Leafs will be able to make it four-straight championships, but he may have to wait for the blisters to heal on his thumbs before he can continue Toronto's reign.
