NEW YORK-- Naomi Campbell has been officially suspended from the Legion of Supermodels. Campbell, the British supermodel who was arrested last week for an alleged assault on her former housekeeper, has had her supermodel status revoked, pending the outcome of her court case.

"The Legion Of Supermodels represents all things that are good...and sexy," said Leagues of Supermodels chairperson Christie Brinkley, from the Legion's headquarters in Fashion City. "Naomi's actions are contradictory to the tenets of the Legion, and she has been put on indefinite suspension until this issue is resolved."

Campbell's superduties will be assumed by fellow supermodel and close superfriend Heidi Klum, who has promised to make sure that world is never put in great apparel.

Naomi Campbell understands the need to protect the integrity of the Legion Of Supermodels, and promises to the decision of the Legion. Until she has been acquitted, Naomi will continue to adminster her own brand of Afro-Jamaican justice without using the "super" label.

Cambell is only the second supermodel to be suspended in the history of the Legion's existence. Rebecca Romjin was barred from the Legion in 2000 when she portrayed a sexy, but evil metamorphing mutant in the science fiction film X-Men.

The League Of Supermodels was formed in 1978 when evil forces threatened to take over runways around the world.
