Former BC Footballer Foley’s Food Feast Folly
![]() |
| Most agree that Rick Foley was a more decisive player when he played for the British Columbia Lions football team. |
INSIDE THE RESTAURANT– Former B.C. Lions football player and now Toronto Argonauts defensive end Ricky Foley, last year’s CFL outstanding Canadian player, was reportedly seen at a Keg restaurant with his family, where it was confirmed that he ordered an 18-ounce steak dinner–at least that is what restaurant staff had confirmed at the moment when Ricky got up to go to the bathroom. However, when Foley returned from his brief personal excursion, he advised the server that he was actually ordering the featured lobster dinner.
When asked about the sudden change in his dining decision, after an obvious verbal communication expressing his desire for the steak entré, the Canadian football player responded that this family preferred that he eat less red meat and more seafood, and that the Lobster Fest special also came with additional tiger prawns and a Caesar salad, something which wasn’t offered with the steak dinner.
While there has been some confusion over the agreement Foley made with the waiter, some have speculated that the restaurant manager may have intercepted Foley while he was en route to the bathroom, and made the York University grad a better offer on his meal.
Foley admitted that he had a lion-sized appetite that evening, and when asked what he would have for dessert, he stated that he would definitely have the strawberry cheesecake, then quickly changed his mind and had the Eskimo Pie.
After completing his dinner, Foley allegedly set a new CFL record in the 40 metre dine-n-dash.

This story about former B.C. Lion Ricky Foley, is sheer folly, and intended as a humorous poke at the football player and the CFL, brought to you by The Toque, the Canadian leader in football humour.
