Grant Devine has been unceremoniously ousted from his planned nomination attempt. Party insiders say that the caucus didn’t feel that Mr. Devine’s questionable history was suitable for the new Party’s image. “Mr. Devine was the premier of Saskatchewan during the 1990’s and I certainly don’t need to tell you about the scandalous time those were” opined John Lynch-Staunton, the interim party leader “The Conservative party can ill afford to associate ourselves with an individual who had such a lack of control over his underlings. As Mr. Devine himself put it so eloquently- obviously some people in my administration, under my watch, made some very serious mistakes,” The scandal involved hundreds of thousands of misappropriated tax payer dollars for which several high ranking members of Devine’s party were prosecuted and convicted. According to senior conservative strategist Mr. X, this is a significant shortcoming “Now sure, I’ll admit, the 1990’s were a different time, but the fact remains, Mr. Devine’s track record is lousy at best. I mean hundreds thousands of dollars? Maybe a million total? And spread over so many palms. That’s despicable and certainly not someone I’d feel comfortable running in the upcoming election against the proven track record of Martin and the rest of the fat cat liberals. I mean, even that overstuffed fella, you know, what’s his name managed to rack up an expense account like that simply on top shelf meals and booze over the course of a few years. And don’t get me started on that jet setting governor general. That broad blew 5 mil on russian vodka, caviar and whatnot for a bunch of pansy assed artsy fartsy types. And now this latest kicker, $100 million to the liberal’s cronies – wow I still can’t wrap my head around that” And what do we have to run against them? A washed up has been who’s biggest credential is a million dollars that he didn’t even reap a reward from? Who couldn’t bilk the morons in socialist Saskatchewan out of their hard earned dollars? Last I heard their perpetually losing football team even announced brazen plans to trade framed pieces of paper for 5 million dollars. |
